I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s degree from the Hunter College School of Social Work in New York City, where my focus was individual psychotherapy. In 2001, I moved to San Francisco and became part of a dynamic community of providers committed to social change and advocacy. During this time, I worked with various nonprofit organizations serving high-risk adolescents, utilizing community organizing, peer mentorship, and youth employment services to support their needs.
Several years later, I returned to my work in family and individual psychotherapy, earning my LCSW and deepening my focus on trauma, attachment theory, and mindfulness-based practices. In 2012, I completed advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based approach that helps individuals heal from long-standing trauma by facilitating lasting, organic changes in the brain. EMDR is one of several tools I use in my practice, alongside other therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Integrated Family Systems (IFS) and mindfulness-based treatment.
